Addressing all aspects of your Waterside Assets

The owner of Water Conservation Technology International, Dan Duke has given the industry an amazing tool that gets a lot of “press” these days on water conservation. I firmly believe that reducing the total plant discharge from their cooling towers system from a range of 12-40% to less than 2% (mostly less than 1%) does warrant the good press and yes it is what seems to be driving a lot of customers to the WCTI process.

However, I like to believe that in areas where:

  • Scale was the real problem, WCTI chemistry has removed that obstacle by controlling hardness and all that it entails.
  • Corrosion was the problem, that problem has been eliminated or substantially reduced from that of index chemistry programs by using what mother nature already has given us with silica based chemistry.
  • Bio-fouling was a problem, there is now no more bio-film or water borne deposits on WCTI Chemistry.

So for me, I like to think of it as also being about the RESULTS!.

I think it is safe to say that there are other areas of your plants’ waterside assets – such as KW savings, that have not been brought to the forefront as much as it should. You see, this is rather simple actually, in that the bio-film removal and scale elimination has lowered most if not all condenser “approach temperatures” that are on the WCTI program - which in some cases can surpass the water savings.

Many plant engineers and managers are very much aware of their approach temperatures, however they may not be relating too, or being educated on how these seemingly intangible “waterside" measurements can have big savings along with water conservation using WCTI's patented silica based chemistry. I see myself working more and more with the local folks from chiller manufactures’ to get a true consensus on what really translates into KW savings. Their list is long, but undisputed, is how important tube cleanliness is and on how it translates into or from lower approach temperatures – resulting in lower power (KW) use.

WCTI is the only program that addresses all aspects of “waterside asset management” and at the same time provides a safer environment for now and the future. Test us on it, give us a challenge and let’s talk!

True. Water Conservation Technology International seems to be making its way on top. But just as you say, there are lots of important and good things they are missing out!

thanks for sharing us your knowledge. we really need to have a good water purification system now that millions of people are dying from different diseases they acquired from drinking unfiltered water
